CUSTODIAN | Leaders of Blacksky

Rank Overview:
Custodians hold the highest attainable rank within Blacksky and serve as the senior leaders of High Command. Their authority extends across every Pillar and major command structure, carrying responsibility for the stability, continuity, direction, and long-term integrity of the organization.

Unlike subordinate command positions, Custodians are not assigned to a particular Chapter, Section, Legion, or Pillar. They provide organization-wide oversight while preserving the authority entrusted to subordinate leaders. Custodians evaluate senior leadership, coordinate matters across Pillars, authorize major structural actions, and intervene when organizational circumstances require High Command authority.

Custodians ensure that Blacksky's Pillars operate as parts of a unified organization. They guide institutional development, resolve conflicts between command structures, uphold established standards, and safeguard the Imperium's identity and continuity.

Working directly with the Primus, Custodians exercise broad leadership authority in shaping Blacksky's policies, governance, strategic direction, and future development. Their responsibilities require sound judgment, independence, accountability, and the restraint necessary to lead without undermining the command structures entrusted to their oversight.

The rank of Custodian is reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, institutional judgment, organizational mastery, and unwavering commitment to Blacksky. It represents the pinnacle of attainable leadership within the Imperium.

Core Expectations:

✦ Provide High Command oversight across all Pillars and major command structures

PRIMUS | Final Imperium Authority

Rank Overview:
The Primus holds final institutional authority within Blacksky, bearing ultimate responsibility for the preservation, direction, identity, and continuity of the Imperium. The position exists independently of the conventional rank hierarchy, with Custodians entrusted as the highest attainable rank and the governing leadership of Blacksky.

The Primus establishes and safeguards Blacksky's long-term direction, institutional principles, and structural integrity while working alongside Custodians in matters of organizational governance, development, and reform. Custodians exercise the authority of their offices independently, with the Primus respecting established command structures rather than unnecessarily replacing them.

The Primus retains final authority in matters of institutional significance, including responsibilities established within Blacksky's governing doctrines and frameworks. This authority extends beyond individual Chapters, Legions, Pillars, or generations of leadership and may be exercised when the stability, identity, continuity, or future of Blacksky requires it.

The position does not prohibit active service within Blacksky's operational hierarchy. When undertaking such responsibilities, the Primus may serve directly within established command structures while continuing to uphold the responsibilities of the permanent office.

Final institutional authority rests with the Primus.
